Short for weblog.
A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life. Consists of such riveting entries as “homework sucks” and “I slept until noon today.”

On that positive note, hi! Welcome to my (un)interesting online diary.  I will have you know that I am not under the illusion that you are currently interested in my life, but maybe you will be once you get to know me a little? Or is that hoping for too much? Yes, I thought so, but here goes..:

I’m almost 20 and I’m half way through my Commerce degree. I kind of dislike my course, but I’m thinking that I may as well finish it since I’m already half way through it. As I’ve learnt in economics,  I shouldn’t really use the time already spent on completing the course when making my decision (it’s a sunk cost), but I’m going to disregard that and continue the course anyway, just because I’m really hoping that it turns out that being an accounting/finance major is my calling in life.

My favourite food is junk food, specfically hazelnut ice cream and M&Ms. I have a sense of humour that can be described as a cross between what your three year old nephew finds funny and your sarcastic uncle’s dad jokes. A joke that makes me laugh every time is ‘why did the toilet paper roll down the hill?’ Speaking of toilet paper, my skin colour closely resembles it’s homebrand white colour, while I wish it was closer to the more expensive, brown, enviro version. I know what you’re thinking, and no, I don’t frequently compare myself to toilet paper. Going back to the pale thing, here’s a great link that will make you understand my troubles: http://www.buzzfeed.com/erinlarosa/things-only-pale-people-will-understand.

I named this blog after my favourite song, The Girl by City and Colour. Pretty much everyone I talk to has never heard of Dallas Green, so I’m just going to assume that you haven’t either. If you haven’t figured it out yet, Dallas=City and Green=Colour. I get sadly excited every time I explain this concept to others. Unfortunately, I can’t say that the excitement is often reciprocated…

Although none of you can really judge whether I have a stupid, pathetic life (yet), I’ll put in a good word for myself: I’m not that bad (I know I’ve got you hooked with that line!).  I can’t say that my life is too exciting at the moment, but I am vacationing in a month or so, and I am also hoping to study overseas on exchange in the second half of 2014. These exciting things mean pretty pictures and some fun posts about my fun times.

In all my posts outside of these exciting events, expect to find out a little about where I go, what I like, what I see and what I think. Maybe I will meander, but I will endeavour to be interesting and I wish you to experience as little boredom as possible when reading my blog. I can guarantee that you will never see a riveting entry such as ‘I slept until noon today.’

I just can’t sleep in that late.

PS: I can only hope that if you came across this, you did not have any of the following reactions. Focus on seconds 1-5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQZvGRvoxjg

Clip from Girls. I totally love it. But that’s another story.

  1. Good luck with your journey in blogg-world. Interested to read of your prospective career hopes. Remember the world is here not to judge but to share and have fun and growth. Cheers B

  2. City and Colour is one of my favorite bands I listen to when I want to get swept away. Here’s to us to hearing Dallas in concert one day (or just me if you’ve already seen him in concert!)

  3. Just had a re-read of your ABOUT and interested in your journey toward a Commerce Degree. I have a family member doing that very same and just as unsure as yourself in where it may take him. I believe it will unfold in time and become obvious the value of what you have been doing. Good luck this year. B
